50% of all orders will be placed in my children's college funds. Your contribution
is appreciated.
Quality Lepidoptera and Coleoptera
Since the age of 6, I've been fascinated with insects.
The journey began with cicadas and I quickly included lepidoptera in my "studies". Recently, I delved fall-force into
the nearly infinite world of beetles. I've been married 12 yrs and am the proud father of two boys. When
I'm not absorbed in insects, I enjoy lifting weights, running, investing, and fishing.
As the proprietor of Big Ed's Bugs, I believe it's more about
the people than the insects. Forming life-long friendships and lasting trade relationships come first and foremost. I practice
sustainable collecting, never overcollecting nor the taking of species occurring in very small populations in a given location.
The survival of insect species is more important to me than collecting or selling these creatures. I have a lifelong
commitment to nature, conservation, and preservation of our earth.
Big
Ed's Bugs provides fresh frozen and dried insects of the highest quality at a very reasonable cost. I am willing
to trade any of my specimens for many species of beetles. On a seasonal basis, I offer local
Saturnid livestock.
What sets Big Ed's Bugs apart
from many other dealers is that virtually all of the specimens from New York State were collected or reared personally
by me, Ed. Thus they have not changed hands multiple times between collectors nor have my self-caught specimens
sat for years in some musty warehouse. If they're not good enough for my collection, they're certainly not good
enough for yours. That fact, coupled with my personal care and commitment, is assurance of the highest quality.
All the best in research, collecting, artwork, and all other endeavors.
